Half-staff Notification in Honor of Toby Keith

On February 6, 2024, the Governor of the State of Oklahoma issued a proclamation in Honor of Toby Keith ordering the flag of the United States and the flag of Oklahoma to be displayed at half-staff until sunset on February 7, 2024.

Executive Order 2024-03

I, J Kevin Stitt, Governor of the State of Oklahoma, hereby direct the appropriate steps be taken to fly al American and Oklahoma flags on State property at half-staff from the time that this order is filed until sunset on Wednesday, February 7th, 2024, as a show of respect and mourning for the loss of American music legend, Toby Keith.

A fellow Oklahoman, Toby Keith inspired love for the American attitude, appreciation for the strength of our country, and respect for the stars and stripes. His songs are often used to convey what it means to be an American, and his dedication to supporting our troops overseas continues to touch the hearts of many.

He is survived by his wife, Tricia Keith, three children and four grandchildren.

The First Lady and I extend our thoughts and prayers to the Keith family at this time.

This executive order shall be forwarded to the Division of Capital Assets Management who shall cause the provisions of this order to be implemented by all appropriate agencies of state government
